Role Overview:
As a Site Civil Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our engineering projects, overseeing the planning, design, and execution of complex infrastructure developments. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and construction professionals to deliver exceptional results on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the site-based civil engineering aspects of major infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and utilities.
- Oversee the design and construction processes, ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct site assessments and evaluations, identifying potential risks and proposing solutions to mitigate them.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring that all milestones are achieved and that the project remains on track.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and efficient project delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to project teams, ensuring that all engineering work meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Prepare and review detailed engineering designs, drawings, and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure that all work is completed to specification.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and expectations, delivering solutions that meet their goals and exceed their expectations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in civil engineering, incorporating new technologies and methodologies into your work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for licensure in Quebec.
- Extensive experience in civil engineering, particularly in large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and project management practices.
- Proven ability to lead and manage complex engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
