Role Overview:
As a Claims Investigator, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth investigations into insurance claims to determine their validity, accuracy, and compliance with policy terms and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and evaluate insurance claims to assess their validity and determine the appropriate resolution.
- Collect and analyze evidence, including documents, statements, and other relevant information, to support claims investigations.
- Conduct interviews with claimants, witnesses, and other involved parties to gather necessary information and clarify details.
- Review and interpret insurance policies, coverage details, and legal requirements to ensure compliance.
- Prepare detailed reports on investigation findings, including recommendations for claim approval, denial, or adjustment.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as underwriting and legal, to resolve complex claims and address any issues.
- Stay current with industry regulations, best practices, and emerging trends related to claims investigation.
- Provide support and guidance to team members and assist in the development of investigation procedures and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a claims investigator or in a similar role within the insurance or financial services industries.
- Strong understanding of claims processes, insurance policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make sound decisions.
- Proficiency in using investigation tools, claims management systems, and standard office applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant certifications or training in claims investigation are a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information and conduct interviews professionally.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple investigations simultaneously.
