Role Overview:
As an Auditor of Insurance and Financial Services, you will be responsible for conducting thorough audits of our financial and operational practices. Your role will involve evaluating internal controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and identifying areas for improvement. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed audits of financial records, insurance policies, and business operations to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes, identifying any gaps or weaknesses.
  • Analyze financial data and documentation to detect inaccuracies, discrepancies, or areas of non-compliance.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports that outline findings, provide recommendations, and suggest corrective actions.
  • Work closely with management and various departments to address audit findings and implement process improvements.
  • Stay informed about changes in industry regulations, best practices, and emerging risks to ensure the organization remains compliant.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of audit tools, methodologies, and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the audit process.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance and internal controls to foster a culture of accountability and transparency.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an auditor, preferably in the insurance or financial services industries.
  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards, financial analysis, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory environment in British Columbia's insurance and financial services sectors.
  • Proficiency in auditing software, financial management systems, and data analysis tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; professional certifications such as CPA or CIA are advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present audit findings and recommendations.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple audits and projects simultaneously.
