Role Overview:
As the Adjuster of Insurance and Financial Services, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving insurance claims and financial disputes. Your role will involve assessing the validity of claims, determining appropriate settlements, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and assess insurance claims and financial disputes to determine their validity and appropriate resolution.
  • Review policy terms, coverage details, and other relevant documentation to make informed decisions on claim settlements.
  • Conduct interviews with claimants, witnesses, and other relevant parties to gather necessary information.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and financial teams to ensure claims are handled in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants, ensuring fair and equitable outcomes for all parties involved.
  • Prepare detailed reports on claim findings, decisions, and recommendations for senior management.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in claims adjustment.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior adjusters and other team members, sharing expertise and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an insurance adjuster, preferably within the insurance or financial services sectors.
  • Strong understanding of claims assessment, policy interpretation, and settlement negotiation.
  • Familiarity with Alberta’s regulatory requirements for insurance and financial services.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in claims management software and tools, as well as advanced knowledge of Excel and data analysis techniques.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Chartered Insurance Professional) are a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations and negotiations effectively.
