Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice and representation on a wide range of real estate matters, including property acquisitions, sales, leases, and financing.
- Draft, review, and negotiate real estate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct due diligence and legal research related to property transactions, zoning laws, title issues, and land use regulations.
- Represent clients in real estate disputes and litigation, including resolving conflicts and negotiating settlements.
- Collaborate with clients, real estate agents, brokers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth and successful transactions.
- Stay current on developments in real estate law, market trends, and regulatory changes to provide up-to-date advice and strategic guidance.
- Manage and oversee the legal aspects of real estate transactions from inception to closing, ensuring all documentation and processes are properly handled.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Real Estate Attorney, with a strong track record of successfully managing real estate transactions and legal issues.
- In-depth knowledge of real estate law, property transactions, land use regulations, and zoning laws in British Columbia.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and practical legal advice.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent and a valid license to practice law in British Columbia.
- Experience working with commercial and residential real estate transactions is preferred.
