Position Overview:
As the Transportation Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the transportation department to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our moving services. You will lead a team of drivers, dispatchers, and logistics staff, ensuring that all transportation activities align with company standards, customer requirements, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and manage the day-to-day transportation operations, including scheduling, routing, and vehicle maintenance.
- Oversee a team of drivers and dispatchers, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
- Develop and implement transportation policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
- Monitor transportation costs and budget, implementing cost-effective measures while maintaining service quality.
- Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as customer service and sales, to enhance customer satisfaction and service delivery.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities for staff.
- Address and resolve any issues related to transportation operations, including delays, damages, or customer complaints.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation management, preferably in the moving or logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
