Job Description:
As a Logistics Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the logistics and transportation operations of The Eastern Flatdeck. You will assist in coordinating the daily activities, managing schedules, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods from origin to destination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage shipments, including scheduling, tracking, and documentation.
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
- Prepare shipping documents, invoices, and other required paperwork.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock of supplies and equipment.
- Assist in route planning and optimizing delivery schedules.
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide updates on shipment status.
- Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities and update internal systems.
- Support the logistics team in managing transportation costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is an asset.
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or a related role is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.
