Job Description:
Wise Organic is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to maintain, repair, and service our fleet of heavy machinery. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large agricultural and construction equipment, ensuring that all machinery is operating at peak performance. This full-time position is based in Toronto, Ontario.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment, including tractors, loaders, excavators, and other machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tire repairs.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems to identify and resolve issues.
- Operate diagnostic tools and software to assess equipment conditions and performance.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work.
- Work closely with the farm management team to prioritize repairs and maintenance schedules.
- Provide training and guidance to operators on proper equipment use and maintenance.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Certificate or diploma in Heavy Equipment Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in repairing and maintaining heavy equipment, preferably in an agricultural setting.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Experience with diagnostic tools and software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate heavy machinery.
