Position Overview: The Night Auditor will be responsible for performing nightly accounting and auditing tasks, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently during nighttime hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct nightly audits of financial transactions, including reviewing and reconciling accounts.
- Verify the accuracy of financial reports and ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies.
- Prepare and process financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Review and reconcile discrepancies in financial records, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
- Monitor and manage nightly financial operations, including cash handling and transaction processing.
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of financial data and documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve financial issues or discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Stay updated on accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Night Auditor or in a similar accounting/auditing role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and auditing practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently during nighttime hours.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and standards specific to Prince Edward Island is a plus.
