Position Overview: The Office Auditor will be responsible for conducting internal audits, reviewing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to provide valuable insights to improve financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform internal audits of financial records, processes, and systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Review and verify financial statements, reports, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify areas of risk, recommend improvements, and implement changes to enhance internal controls and financial processes.
- Prepare detailed audit reports, including findings, recommendations, and action plans.
- Collaborate with the finance team to address audit issues and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and industry best practices.
- Conduct follow-up audits to ensure that recommendations and corrective actions have been implemented.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Office Auditor or in a similar auditing role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present audit findings clearly and professionally.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and standards specific to Prince Edward Island is a plus.
