Position Overview: The Tobacco Clerk will be responsible for assisting customers with their tobacco purchases, managing inventory, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle transactions accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers with their tobacco and related product purchases.
- Provide information about products, including brands, types, and pricing.
- Process transactions accurately using the cash register or point-of-sale system.
- Maintain a well-organized and clean sales floor, including product displays and shelving.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stocking shelves and reordering products as needed.
- Ensure compliance with age restrictions and other regulatory requirements for tobacco sales.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns in a professional manner.
- Perform routine administrative tasks, including recording sales and managing cash.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of tobacco products and industry regulations is an asset.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions and managing inventory.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
