Position Overview: The Thermal Plant Operator will be responsible for the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the thermal plant systems and equipment. This role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the plant operates at optimal levels to meet energy demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor thermal plant equipment, including boilers, turbines, and auxiliary systems.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of plant systems to ensure efficient and safe operation.
- Monitor plant performance metrics and make adjustments to optimize energy production.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime and maintain continuous operation.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of plant operations, maintenance activities, and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams and other plant personnel to coordinate repairs and upgrades.
- Participate in safety drills and emergency response procedures as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Thermal Plant Operator or in a similar role within the energy sector.
- Strong understanding of thermal plant operations, including boilers, turbines, and control systems.
- Technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems used in thermal plants.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to operational issues.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with industry standards.
- Relevant technical certifications or training in thermal plant operations are an asset.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
