Job Description: As a Bakery Clerk at Private General Store Inc., you will be responsible for ensuring that our bakery section is well-stocked, attractive, and offers a wide selection of freshly baked products. You will assist customers with their bakery needs, maintain cleanliness, and support the bakery team in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers in selecting and purchasing baked goods, offering product recommendations as needed.
- Stock and display bakery products, ensuring freshness, quality, and visual appeal.
- Package and label baked goods accurately, following store and food safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bakery area, including counters, display cases, and equipment.
- Assist bakers with basic tasks such as preparing ingredients, mixing, and baking when required.
- Operate bakery equipment safely and in accordance with store policies.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any concerns in a friendly and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a bakery, grocery, or retail environment is a plus but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with a positive and friendly attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail in packaging and labeling products.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
