Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled Stonemason to handle various masonry projects involving stonework. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in stonemasonry, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively on complex projects. You will be responsible for crafting, repairing, and maintaining stone structures with precision and artistry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct, repair, and maintain stone structures including walls, arches, and facades.
- Cut, shape, and set stone using various masonry tools and techniques.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Prepare surfaces for stone installation, including measuring, mixing mortar, and applying bonding agents.
- Ensure the alignment, level, and appearance of stonework meets project standards and specifications.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on completed stonework to ensure durability and safety.
- Collaborate with other trades and project managers to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment used in stonework.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Stonemason with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in stonemasonry techniques and use of masonry tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle the demands of the job.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Relevant certifications or trade qualifications are an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
