Job Description:
We are seeking a creative and skilled Cake Decorator to join our team at Carameller Candy Shop. As a Cake Decorator, you will be responsible for designing, decorating, and finishing cakes to meet customer specifications. Your artistic flair and attention to detail will ensure that every cake is a masterpiece, delighting our customers on their special occasions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and decorate cakes, cupcakes, and other baked goods according to customer requests and shop standards
- Utilize various decorating techniques, including piping, fondant work, and airbrushing
- Ensure the quality, consistency, and visual appeal of all decorated products
- Collaborate with customers to create custom cake designs, offering suggestions and ideas to meet their needs
- Prepare and maintain display cakes and other bakery items to showcase in-store
- Assist in the baking and preparation of cakes as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Manage inventory of decorating supplies and ingredients, ensuring timely replenishment
- Work efficiently to meet deadlines, especially during peak times and special events
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Cake Decorator or in a similar role is required
- Strong artistic skills and creativity in cake design and decoration
- Proficiency in using cake decorating tools and techniques
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple orders simultaneously
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
