Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Baker Apprentice to assist in the preparation and baking of a variety of delicious treats. As a Baker Apprentice, you will work closely with our experienced bakers, learning the ins and outs of the craft and gaining hands-on experience in a professional kitchen. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to start their career in baking and is passionate about creating high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and baking of breads, pastries, cookies, and other baked goods
- Follow recipes and instructions provided by senior bakers
- Learn and apply various baking techniques, including mixing, kneading, and shaping doughs
- Help with the decoration and finishing of cakes and pastries
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety standards
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in the management of baking supplies
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for new products and recipes
- Assist with other kitchen duties as needed, including cleaning and equipment maintenance
Qualifications:
- A strong interest in baking and a desire to learn and grow in the field
- Previous experience in a bakery or kitchen environment is an asset but not required
- Basic understanding of baking techniques and equipment
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy ingredients
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
