Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clerk to join our Child/Adolescent Mental Health team in the CAPE unit. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our mental health services, ensuring that administrative tasks are handled efficiently and with the utmost care. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient records and documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Coordinate appointments, referrals, and follow-ups for patients within the CAPE unit.
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, families, and healthcare professionals, providing information and directing inquiries appropriately.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, correspondence, and other administrative tasks as required by the mental health team.
- Maintain and update databases, ensuring that all patient information is current and accessible to authorized personnel.
- Support the CAPE unit’s daily operations, including scheduling, filing, and managing communications.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure the smooth flow of information and resources within the unit.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of administrative processes.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a healthcare administrative role, preferably in a mental health setting.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records systems.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive information.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain professionalism under pressure.
- Understanding of mental health issues and the unique needs of children and adolescents is an asset.
