Role Overview:
As an IT Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing robust network infrastructures to support our engineering operations. You will work closely with IT and engineering teams to ensure network performance, security, and reliability, contributing to the success of our projects and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable and reliable network infrastructure solutions to support the company’s engineering operations.
- Configure and manage network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and policies.
- Ensure network security by implementing and managing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security measures.
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to integrate network infrastructure with other systems and applications.
- Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions with minimal disruption to operations.
- Conduct regular network performance assessments and capacity planning to meet evolving business needs.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network infrastructure and management.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and end-users as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is an asset.
- 7+ years of experience in network infrastructure design, implementation, and management.
- Professional certifications such as Cisco CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
- Experience with network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Proven experience in network security and implementing best practices for data protection.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex network issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
