Role Overview:
As a Junior Design Engineer, you will support the design and development of engineering projects by creating and refining technical designs and documentation. You will work closely with senior engineers and project teams to ensure that designs meet project requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and preparation of detailed design drawings, specifications, and documentation for engineering projects.
- Support senior engineers in the design, analysis, and evaluation of engineering systems and components.
- Conduct research and analysis to support design decisions and ensure that designs are feasible and compliant with industry standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers, to integrate design solutions into overall project plans.
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on design improvements and optimizations.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including design reports, technical specifications, and progress reports.
- Conduct site visits and inspections as needed to gather data and ensure design implementation aligns with project requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to contribute to innovative design solutions.
- Assist in the development and testing of prototypes and models to validate design concepts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in design engineering or a related role; internships or co-op experience is beneficial.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and design methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods.
