Role Overview:
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and managing civil engineering projects from conception through to completion. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and construction professionals to deliver high-quality, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects, including infrastructure, transportation, and environmental projects.
- Oversee and manage all phases of project development, including feasibility studies, site assessments, design, permitting, construction oversight, and project close-out.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff, ensuring the accuracy and quality of their work.
- Prepare and review engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and standards.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress, ensure compliance with design specifications, and address any issues that arise during construction.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that project goals are met and that any challenges are effectively managed.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure that our engineering solutions remain innovative and effective.
- Participate in business development activities, including preparing proposals and presentations to secure new projects and clients.
- Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with the firm’s safety, quality, and environmental policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a strong background in infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and utilities.
- Proven experience in leading and managing engineering projects from start to finish.
- In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D), and relevant codes and standards.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
