Position Overview:
The Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of our transportation and logistics services, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and high-quality service delivery. This role involves strategic planning, team management, and continuous improvement of operational processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily transportation operations, including dispatching, scheduling, and routing of freight.
- Lead and supervise a team of drivers, dispatchers, and support staff, ensuring smooth coordination and high performance.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
- Monitor and control operational budgets, costs, and expenditures to meet financial goals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local, provincial, and federal regulations and safety standards.
- Analyze key performance metrics and generate reports to identify areas for improvement and implement action plans.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to maintain strong customer relationships and address service issues.
- Handle and resolve operational challenges, including delays, equipment failures, and customer complaints, in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide training and development opportunities for team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within the transportation or logistics industry.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in logistics and transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
