Job Description:
SOPASSTECH is looking for an experienced Manager of Information Systems to oversee and manage our organization's IT operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and maintenance of our information systems, ensuring they align with the company’s goals and objectives. This full-time position is based in Prince Edward Island and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, development, and implementation of information systems and IT infrastructure.
- Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support for their growth and development.
- Oversee the security and integrity of the company’s data, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance system performance and security.
- Collaborate with other departments to assess their technology needs and provide effective solutions.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of IT systems to ensure optimal efficiency and reliability.
- Manage the IT budget, including forecasting and cost management.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends, making recommendations for their adoption where beneficial.
- Oversee the procurement and maintenance of hardware and software, ensuring they meet organizational needs.
- Handle crisis management in the event of system failures or security breaches, ensuring rapid resolution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in IT management, with a proven track record of leading and implementing successful IT projects.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, databases, and cloud computing.
- Experience with cybersecurity best practices and data protection regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is an asset.
- Experience in budgeting and financial management related to IT projects.
