Position Overview: The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities within the organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. This role requires strong financial acumen, leadership skills, and the ability to develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the company’s financial planning and analysis processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Oversee and ensure the accuracy of financial records, transactions, and reports.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
- Manage cash flow, investment activities, and financial planning to support the company’s strategic objectives.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes.
- Stay updated on financial regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional designation (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar financial leadership role.
- Strong understanding of financial management principles, practices, and regulations.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and standards specific to Prince Edward Island is a plus.
