Position Overview: The Optician will be responsible for assisting customers with their eyewear needs, including fitting and adjusting lenses, providing expert advice on lens options, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a passion for helping people improve their vision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate lenses and frames based on their prescription, lifestyle, and personal preferences.
- Perform accurate measurements for fitting eyeglasses, including pupillary distance and lens thickness.
- Provide detailed information on various lens options, including coatings, materials, and special features.
- Adjust and repair eyeglasses to ensure a comfortable and secure fit.
- Dispense contact lenses and provide instructions on proper care and use.
- Collaborate with optometrists to ensure accurate prescription fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of customer prescriptions, orders, and transactions.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in optical technology and eyewear fashion.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering lenses, frames, and accessories.
- Provide exceptional customer service and address any questions or concerns promptly.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Optician with a recognized certification or diploma in Opticianry.
- Previous experience as an Optician in a retail or clinical setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of optical principles, lens types, and eyewear fitting techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in performing measurements and adjustments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with optical software and point-of-sale systems is an asset.
