Job Description: As a Hardwood Floor Refinisher at The Flooring Ltd, you will be responsible for restoring and enhancing the appearance of hardwood floors. You will apply your expertise to ensure that our flooring projects meet high-quality standards and exceed client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hardwood floor refinishing tasks, including sanding, staining, and sealing to restore floors to their original condition or achieve a new look.
- Prepare work areas by removing existing finishes, cleaning surfaces, and ensuring a dust-free environment.
- Apply finishes, stains, and sealants according to specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
- Inspect and assess floors for damage or imperfections, and perform necessary repairs before refinishing.
- Operate and maintain flooring equipment, including sanders, buffers, and applicators.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality, with attention to detail and precision.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on project progress.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient project completion and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a hardwood floor refinisher or in a similar role is required.
- Strong knowledge of hardwood floor refinishing techniques, products, and equipment.
- Ability to perform detailed work with precision and accuracy.
- Good understanding of safety practices and procedures related to flooring work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to address issues on-site effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with clients and team members.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and handle heavy materials and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in flooring is a plus.
