Job Description: As a Produce Clerk in Training at Kitek Solar Ltd, you will be trained in all aspects of produce management, from handling and displaying products to providing exceptional customer service. You will work alongside experienced team members to ensure that our produce section is fresh, well-stocked, and appealing to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the receipt, inspection, and display of fresh produce, ensuring all products meet our quality standards.
- Learn proper techniques for handling, storing, and rotating produce to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the produce department, following all health and safety guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service, helping customers find specific items and offering advice on product selection.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking to ensure that produce is always available and fresh.
- Participate in training sessions to gain knowledge about different produce items, their handling requirements, and customer service best practices.
- Assist with labeling, pricing, and promotional displays to ensure accuracy and attract customer interest.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a safe, efficient, and customer-friendly environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A strong interest in learning about produce and retail operations.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding role, including lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced staff.
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices is an advantage but not required.
