Position Overview: We are looking for a seasoned Legal Advisor with extensive knowledge of Canadian immigration law to provide expert legal counsel and representation to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong legal background, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to handle complex legal matters related to immigration. You will be responsible for advising clients, preparing legal documents, and representing them in legal proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of immigration matters, including visa applications, refugee claims, family sponsorship, and more.
- Prepare and review legal documents, including contracts, appeals, and applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Canadian immigration law.
- Represent clients in legal proceedings, including hearings and appeals before immigration tribunals and other legal bodies.
- Stay current with changes in immigration laws, policies, and regulations, and advise clients accordingly.
- Manage a caseload of clients, providing timely and effective legal support and maintaining regular communication.
- Collaborate with the consulting team to develop legal strategies for complex cases.
- Conduct legal research to support case preparation and ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior legal staff and support personnel.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards in the provision of immigration legal services.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent legal qualification.
- Admission to the bar in Canada, with a specialization in immigration law preferred.
- Extensive experience in immigration law, with a strong track record of successful legal outcomes.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to clients.
- Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Fluency in multiple languages is an asset.
