Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Junior Baker to assist in the preparation and baking of a variety of sweet treats. As a Junior Baker, you will work closely with our experienced bakers, learning the craft and gaining valuable experience in a professional kitchen. This role is perfect for someone with a love for baking who is looking to start their career in the culinary world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and baking of cakes, pastries, cookies, and other desserts
- Follow established recipes and instructions from senior bakers
- Help with the mixing, kneading, and shaping of doughs and batters
- Ensure the quality and consistency of all baked goods
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all health and safety guidelines
- Assist in the inventory management of baking supplies and ingredients
- Decorate cakes and pastries under the guidance of senior staff
- Perform general kitchen duties, including cleaning and equipment maintenance
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of new recipes and ideas
Qualifications:
- A passion for baking and a desire to learn and grow in the field
- Previous experience in a bakery or food preparation environment is an asset but not required
- Basic understanding of baking techniques and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and handle heavy ingredients
