Role Overview:
As an Infants' Daycare Worker, you will be responsible for the care and supervision of infants, ensuring their safety, comfort, and development in a warm and supportive environment. You will work closely with other staff members to create a positive and engaging atmosphere that fosters each child’s growth and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive and nurturing care for infants, including feeding, diapering, and maintaining nap schedules.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of infants.
- Monitor and assess the progress of each child, communicating regularly with parents about their child’s development and any concerns.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment, following all health and safety regulations.
- Develop strong, trusting relationships with infants and their families, fostering a sense of security and belonging.
- Collaborate with other daycare staff to create a cohesive and supportive team environment.
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to each child’s dietary needs and preferences.
- Assist with the transition of infants from one activity to another, ensuring their comfort and well-being at all times.
- Respond calmly and effectively in case of emergencies or unexpected situations.
- Keep accurate records of each child’s daily activities, development milestones, and any incidents.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with infants in a daycare, nursery, or similar setting is preferred.
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification or equivalent training is an asset.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Strong understanding of infant development and age-appropriate activities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive daycare environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the infants and the daycare center.
- References from previous childcare positions will be required.
