Role Overview:
As a CAD Technologist, you will be responsible for creating and managing detailed technical drawings and designs using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. You will work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to support the development of accurate and efficient design solutions for a variety of engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and prepare detailed CAD drawings and designs for engineering projects, including civil, mechanical, and structural disciplines.
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to understand project requirements and translate them into accurate and comprehensive CAD drawings.
- Review and revise design drawings based on feedback and changes from project stakeholders.
- Ensure all CAD drawings comply with industry standards, company guidelines, and project specifications.
- Maintain and update CAD drawing files, including managing revisions and ensuring data integrity.
- Assist in the preparation of design documentation, including layout plans, sections, and details.
- Provide technical support and guidance on CAD-related issues and best practices.
- Participate in project meetings and provide input on design and drafting-related topics.
- Stay current with advancements in CAD technology and software to improve design processes and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in CAD Technology, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a CAD Technologist role, preferably within an engineering or construction environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Revit.
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles and drafting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality, accurate technical drawings.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and project stakeholders.
- Experience with 3D modeling and visualization is a plus.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards is an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
